If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes

Change Requires Change
It seems so simple, but it’s true: if we want change, we’re probably going to need to implement some changes. We can’t expect different results from doing the same things.
Why Change Feels Scary to the BrainNew experiences can often feel confusing—or even threatening—to the brain. That’s because our brains love predictability. Familiar routines make us feel safe, even if they aren’t the healthiest ones.
When you step into something new, you may need to gently remind yourself: This is different. This is hard. But I can handle it.
Be Brave. Start Small. Stay Consistent.Change doesn’t have to be huge to be effective. Small, consistent steps lead to real transformation.
Here are some simple ideas to get you started:
-
Drink a large cup of water each morning to increase hydration
-
Wake up a few minutes earlier for Bible reading or prayer
-
Practice “yellibacy” (Dr. Laura Markham’s phrase) by disciplining your speech and reducing yelling
-
Set a time limit for social media use
The sky is the limit here. Change is possible—one small, brave step at a time. Be consistent. Be kind to yourself. And keep going.
